"In October 2007,1 had the opportunity to attend an Epic information breakfast. I was not aware of what Epic did, and did not have any expectations prior to the breakfast.
On the day there were presentations from various business owners in regard to the success of Epic clients working in their businesses.
Bunnings Stafford was in a situation where we had a large amount of vacancies and based on feedback from other business owners, the Epic clients sounded like a logical proposition.
Bunnings is always striving to assist in the local community, and I saw this as an opportunity to give some people in our local community a chance, and also assist with my recruitment needs.
I recruited 11 clients from Epic, with the assistance of Euan Joiner, and others.
I was aware that some of these clients may need a little more TLC compared to other recruited people, although their passion and excitement for their new jobs was extremely obvious.
We employed 11 people for various roles around the store, and all of them required face to face dealing with customers, and.the need to wear the "bright red" Bunnings shirt.
I was concerned at first that these new recruits may find it a little tough dealing with the general public, as some of them had not worked in retail or even a job for several years.
This was not the case, and I have already had the pleasure of presenting customer service awards to some, and have received very positive feedback from both customers, and more importantly my existing team in regards to the work ethic of the Epic recruits.
After 3 months of service I would have to say that my Team from Epic are amongst the most committed and passionate of my team, and have been a huge motivation to my existing team of over 200.
I intend to have the recruits from Epic with me for a very long time, and there has not been a week gone by that one of them has not thanked me for giving them this opportunity."

...Novotel Twin Waters Resort commencend a relationship with Epic nearly two years ago and since then have been fortunate to have employed some exceptional staff. Epic Employment have provided staff within our housekeeping department and our food and beverage department, staff with varying skills sets.
